Parenteral Drug Therapy Manual

A reference manual that provides concise, well-structured and practical information on the parenteral administration of approximately 380 drugs, including the intravenous, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes, for health care professionals. The information provided is referenced and includes the following sections:

Sample monograph

The Manual is updated annually and maintained by the Drug Information Service. It is reviewed by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and approved by the Medical Advisory Committee of The Ottawa Hospital.

The recommendations in this Manual are considered policy for the administration of the respective medication at The Ottawa Hospital. This Manual is not a complete treatise on parenterally-administered drugs. Providing extensive therapeutic and/or compatibility information is beyond the scope of this reference. 

The Manual is available in English and French. The hard-copy version of the Manual is available in 6 X 8 ½ size and the electronic version is available in Microsoft Word format.
